The waste management rules will be implemented strictly and the defaulters will be penalised beginning December 10. Prime Minister Tshering Tobgay said this during the Nationwide Cleaning Campaign and Sensitisation Programme in the capital on Friday.
The Prime Minister said the amount of various penalties might be increased if people continue to violate the rules.
The Prime Minister and Agriculture Minister also launched Bhutan State of Park report and Thromde’s SOP, a guide to use Thromde’s service.
Meanwhile, more than one hundred truckloads of wastes were collected on the day in Thimphu alone.
According to Thimphu Thromde, such cleaning campaign will be held every month now.
