New city buses to hit Thimphu’s road

new-city-buses-to-hit-thimphus-roadNew city buses will hit the road of Thimphu in two weeks time. Of the 18 buses, three will go to Phuentshogling.

The 28-seater buses were purchased at a cost of over Nu 67 M.

These buses have new features such CCTV cameras, wheelchair ramp for differently-abled people, a television, and a higher ground clearance.

“We hope the services will be improved and enhanced specially during the peak hours,” said Transport Director with the City Bus Services, Sonam Dendup.

Information and communications minister, D.N Dhungyel inaugurated the fleet of buses, yesterday.

As part of inaugural ceremony, the minister along with local residents travelled around Thimphu city in the new bus.
