hh-tshewang-samtseOver 5,000 devotees received Tshewang or blessing for long life from His Holiness the Je Khenpo in Samtse, yesterday. They gathered at the Samtse public ground, where a week-long Moenlam Chenmo was being conducted.

The 6th Samtse Moenlam Chenmo, which started Wednesday, last week, ended yesterday, coinciding with the Descending Day of Lord Buddha.

The great prayer ceremony was administered by His Holiness the Je Khenpo along with hundred of monks including Lams from Zhung Dratshang and Samtse Dratshang.

Prior to the Moenlam Chenmo, His Holiness has been in few of the gewogs in Samtse either consecrating Lhakhang or performing prayers, visiting Hindu temple; and conducting Wang in Tendruk during second-week of this month.

His Holiness will visit Gomtu tomorrow before leaving for Thimphu and then to Punakha
