Finance ministry questioned on e-commerce

finance-ministry-questioned-on-e-commerceThe Finance Minister, Namgay Dorji said although challenging, the government is working on ways to monitor e-commerce in the country.

The minister was responding to the question by the National Council member from Chhukha, Pema Tenzin, today.

He had asked if there is are procedures in place to monitor online business in the country.

Lyonpo Namgay Dorji said online business picked up in 2013-14. He said to ensure e-commerce within the legal framework, they will now have to refer to all the laws of the country.  “The change in the ways of doing business is one of the main challenges while framing an act.”
