His Holiness consecrates a Lhakhang in Tendruk

his-holiness-consecrates-a-lhakhang-in-tendrukHis Holiness the Je Khenpo, who is in Samtse, consecrated a new Lhakhang in Tendruk on Sunday. The Tendruk DhoeNga Chhoeling Lhakhang was built with financial support from the government.

The construction of the Lhakhang began in 2009 and completed in 2013, while the sculpting of statues in the sanctum of Lhakhang actually began from 2014 and completed this year.

Over Nu 13 M was spent on completing the Lhakhang which will benefit over 2,500 households of Tendruk and Norgaygang Gewogs under Samtse Dzongkhag.his-holiness-consecrates-a-lhakhang-in-tendruk

An additional of Nu 2.5 M was contributed from Gewog Development Grant and by the community and Individuals.

The consecration ceremony was attended by the senior government officials and armed forces; and by the public under Tashichhoeling Dungkhag.

Meanwhile, His Holiness the Je Khenpo, on his way to Tendruk, made stopovers in two gewogs.

A butter lamp offering and a prayer ceremony was conducted by His Holiness at the Ugyentse Lhakhang which was recently renovated.

In Tashichhoeling Gewog, His Holiness conducted the Salang Tendrel or ground breaking ceremony to build a Lhakhang for Tashichhoeling Dratshang.

The construction is expected to begin soon with the support of the Government.

Tomorrow, His Holiness will administer the Moenlam Chenmo or Great Prayer ceremony in Samtse.
