After more than a year of search, Jomotshangkha police in Samdrup Jongkhar arrested the 47-year-old man. He had been on the run after he was charged in connection with illegal transaction of 180 kilograms of marijuana.
The man, believed to be the prime suspect, had gone missing after police intercepted the case in June last year.
Meanwhile, Jomotshangkha Dungkhag Court sentenced two Bhutanese men from Jomotshangkha to non-compoundable prison term of five years each for illicit trafficking of marijuana.
The court also convicted two other to three year prison term each for aiding.
