Former foreign minister acquitted of all charges related to Lhakhang Karpo caseThe Supreme Court acquitted the former foreign minister, Rinzin Dorje of all the charges related to misuse of public property. The verdict, which was out Friday, said there were no concrete evidence to prove the charges.

The former foreign minister, who is now serving as the Member of the Parliament of Shompangkha Constituency under Sarpang, was charged with misuse of authority and public property as the then Haa Dzongdag.

The former project manager of Lhakhang Karpo, Wangchuk Tshering has also been acquitted of all the charges. He was charged with forgery, embezzlement and bribery.

The Office of the Attorney General (OAG) prosecuted the case against the former Foreign Minister and six other individuals in February, 2015.

The case came in the limelight after the Anti-Corruption Commission completed its two year-long investigation and forwarded the case to OAG in August, 2014.
