The 5th India-Bhutan Friendship Tennis Championship began in Thimphu today. 75 participants from Bhutan, India and Nepal are taking part in the tournament. Nepal is taking part in the tournament for the first time this year.
The tournament will be played in four categories- singles for men and women, Lucky doubles and veterans.
The players from all three countries will play along with each other in a mixed category in lucky doubles.
The finals will be played on July 7. The tournament is organised by Bhutan Tennis Federation supported by India-Bhutan Foundation. There are plans to invite players from other neighbouring countries in future.
