Health ministry detects 32 new HIV/AIDS cases

Health ministry detects 32 new HIV-AIDS casesA press release from the health ministry says 32 new HIV/AIDS cases; 18 male and rest female, have been detected in the last six month.

It also includes a case of mother to child transmission.

The release says most of the infected are unemployed.

Most of the cases were detected through voluntary testing and a few through medical screening.

Most of the infections were detected at an early stage as their body immunity was still within the normal rage.

The Health Ministry said this shows that the HIV prevention Programmees are proving successful.

Bhutan now has 492 total reported cases with 51 percent male.
