Bhutan Standards Bureau (BSB) has acquired official recognition for product certification from a regional certification body based in India.
This means certification by BSB for the products will now be recognised worldwide.
Local manufacturers for products will not have to depend upon external certification to export their products. The

“The conformity assessment is something bodies need to be certified. For that matter even any department that wishes to do well and if they seek accreditation, the delivery of governments programs and services become much more effective,” said BSB’s Director General, Sonam Phuntsho.
The certificate was handed over to BSB coinciding with the World Accreditation Day, yesterday.
The day was celebrated to convey the importance of accreditation and how it can benefit by recognizing the services provided by conformity assessment bodies such as certification, testing, and inspection.
