Thimphu Police Station (1)Thimphu Police arrested a Bhutanese woman, who is in her mid-thirties, last month from India for allegedly deceiving three people of Nu 7 M. She had promised them jobs in the United States and had asked for the money to process visas.

The three had taken money from various banks to pay the suspect.

However, sources told BBS the day they were to depart; the suspect did not turn up. When they tried calling, they found her phone was switched off.

The suspect had apparently processed their Visas from Nepal.

She was arrested after her husband lodged a complaint with the police saying his wife went missing from Kabesa in Thimphu.

Royal Bhutan Police didn’t want to comment on the case.
