Her Majesty The Gyaltsuen inaugurates Royal Bhutan Flower Exhibition

HM-2nd-Royal-Flower-Exhibition---In the presence of His Majesty The King, His Majesty The Fourth Druk Gyalpo and His Royal Highness The Gyalsey, Her Majesty The Gyaltsuen inaugurated the second Royal Bhutan Flower Exhibition at the Ugyen Pelri Palace in Paro, yesterday.

HM-2nd-Royal-Flower-Exhibition-Also present were their Majesties the Queen Mothers, other members of the Royal Family, Prime Minster, Members of the Parliament, and senior government officials.

The second Royal Bhutan Flower Exhibition is held to commemorate the 26th Birth Anniversary of Her Majesty The Gyaltsuen.

Her Majesty The Gyaltsuen inaugurated the event and offered butter lamp.

Her Majesty also launched roses named the Queen of Bhutan.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge had gifted the rose on their visit to Bhutan.

Following the launch, Their Majesties personally visited each and every garden extending over 18 acres.HM-2nd-Royal-Flower-Exhibition----

Eight teams, including two from Japan and Thailand, are taking part in the exhibition.

The Japanese Garden displays traditional Japanese tea ceremony. The garden also showcases a 120-year-old Bonsai tree.HM-2nd-Royal-Flower-Exhibition--

The Thai Garden is an exchange programme between The Royal Project Bhutan and The Royal Project Foundation Thailand. The garden displays flowers, organic vegetables, fruits and other canned products.

The Bhutanese gardens displayed over a thousand varieties of flowers and plant species, among others.

They also displayed a 113-year-old Bhutanese Bonsai.

Miniature Drukgyal Dzong and Pangbitsa Royal Academy are also on the display.

The Royal Bhutan Flower Exhibition was organised upon the Royal Command of His Majesty The King and under the initiative of Her Majesty Gyalyum Tshering Yangden Wangchuck.

Last year’s Royal Bhutan Flower Exhibition had over 50,000 visitors from within and outside country.

The five-day Royal Bhutan Flower Exhibition will be opened for public display starting today.
