Gelegphu’s Thrompon, Tikaram Kafley said the thromde is concerned. “We have no option but to appeal to the government to reduce the buffer zone.”

During the recent mid-term review meeting, Gelegphu Thromde had put up the request to the Prime Minister.

Lyonchhen Tshering Tobgay had responded saying the works and human settlement ministry is reviewing the case. He said it will then be discussed in the Cabinet.

The discussion of reducing the buffer zone had taken place since 2014.

No construction was allowed within the zone after an order from the home ministry in 2010.
