Man caught for possessing 17 sacks of dried Marijuana

Man caught for possessing 17 sacks of dried Marijuana (2)Samdrup Jongkhar police arrested a 38-year-old man for allegedly possessing 17 sacks of dried Marijuana amounting to 680 kilograms, at Jomotshangkha, yesterday.

The man, who drives a school bus, was on his way to Assam in India when he was caught.

Police say the suspect had intended to sell Marijuana across the border.

The suspect’s statement to the police says he had brought the Cannabis from Serthi Village in Samdrup Jongkhar.

Police is also in search of six other suspects to be involved in the case.

If convicted, Police say, the suspect will be sentenced for minimum of five years imprisonment.
