Bayul and Lenbi villages under Kazhi Gewog in Wangdue Phodrang lost about 80 percent of their main crop potato to heavy hailstorm, yesterday.
The hailstone, which pounded the villages from 3 PM onwards and lasted for about a half an hour, affected 75 acres of crops in these villages. About 77 households have been impacted.
A detailed assessment on the damage has been submitted to the Department of Agriculture.
