The Chief Election Officer, Phub Dorji clarified the second phase of the Local Government elections will be in July, this year and not in June as many think. He said only the election process will begin in June.
“From ECB’s point of view, the process is more important and we will start the process from mid June.”
Phub Dorji said if they start the process in the mid June, they will have about 30 days until the poll day.
Except for 10 gewogs, the elections will cover all.
The second phase election is also expected to cover the remaining 17 Thromdes.
