Five arrested for cross-border smugglingThimphu police arrested a 27-year-old woman and four men, in two different cases, for cross-border smuggling and abusing pharmaceutical drugs which are banned in Bhutan.

Police recovered more than 2,000 capsules from the woman’s house in Thimphu on September 16.

The four men were arrested during highway checking. The four men were travelling in Phuentsholing-Thimphu bus on September 29.

Three were found carrying 652 capsules and one under the influence of drug.

All the suspects are in their 20s and unemployed.
