Man detained on suspicion of stealing explosive cableZhemgang police have detained a 47-year-old man from Womling Village under Shingkhar Gewog on suspicion of stealing explosive decode cable. The cable was supposedly stolen from the construction site of Shingkhar Gewog Road.

He was apprehended on September 14 after the former supervisor lodged a written complaint to the police. The supervisor had lodged the complaint earlier this month even though the cable was stolen in 2014.

The suspect says he is being framed for Shingkhar road realignment dispute as he had taken a different stand than that of the former supervisor.  The supervisor had resigned, citing conflict of interest, after the Shingkhar road realignment controversy broke out.

The suspect also said his son-in-law gave him the cable, which he has used to fence his kitchen garden.
