The winner and the first runners up of the Dzongkhag Level Archery Tournament will participate in Final Level Tournament (FLT) to be held at Gyalpozhing, Mongar along with 10 teams from other five eastern Dzongkhags.

The Khesar Gyalpo Archery Tournament 2015 is being organised by the Office of the Gyaltshab to commemorate the 60th Birth Anniversary of our beloved Fourth Druk Gyalpo. It is the first regional archery tournament using only the traditional bow and arrow and is being done not only to promote our national sport but also to provide a platform for local people to participate and interact with one another.

On September 21, HRH the Gyaltshab granted an audience to 43 students, studying in various schools under Trashi Yangtse Dzongkhag, who were identified for His Majesty’s Kidu. The students come from economically disadvantaged backgrounds. They will be enrolled as Gyalpoi Tozeys and receive financial allowances from His Majesty the King to meet their education expenses annually so that they can continue their studies henceforth.

HRH told the students to work hard and excel in studies so that they can not only become independent and support the families but also serve the nation better, thereby fulfilling His Majesty’s aspirations for our country.

HRH granted an audience to four elderly destitute people from different gewogs under Trashi Yangtse Dzongkhag who will also be receiving monthly living allowances from His Majesty the King. His Highness also granted Tokha and other Royal Soelra to the students and needy people.
