Thimphu Police have forwarded the case, involving a stepfather, who allegedly attempted to molest his nine and a-half-year old stepdaughter, to the Office of the Attorney General.
A statement from RENEW, a Civil Society Organisation, which filed the case with the police, say the man had attempted to molest the girl on several occasions.
The stepfather has denied the accusations.
Another case involving the same girl has also been forwarded to the OAG. The police had uncovered the involvement of the girl’s neighbour on further investigation.
The neighbour confessed he did touch her but with the girl’s consent.
The girl’s school had forwarded the case to RENEW after she had shared it with her friend. The friend had then reported the case to the school.
