Bhutan and India reviewed the overall progress of the Project-Tied Assistance projects and agreed to a reprioritized list of projects during the 4th Annual India-Bhutan Development Cooperation Talks. The talk was held in India’s capital, New Delhi, yesterday.

A press release from the foreign ministry says both the countries are satisfied with the overall progress of Small Development Projects.

The Bhutanese delegation was led by Foreign Secretary, Tshering Dorji and the Indian delegation by Ministry of External Affairs’ Secretary, Sujatha Mehta.
The annual Development Cooperation Talks are the umbrella mechanism for discussing Government of India’s bilateral developmental assistance to the Royal Government of Bhutan.

India has committed Rs 28 B as Project Tied Assistance, Rs. 8.5 B for Programme Grant, and Rs. 8.50 B for Small Development Projects (SDPs) for Bhutan’s 11th Five Year Plan.

A total of 85 PTA projects and 485 SDPs have been broadly agreed for implementation during the current Plan period.
