The Central Monastic Body or the Zhung Dratshang refutes rumours doing rounds on social media. The message, shared on Facebook and WeChat, says that His Holiness the Je khenpo dreamt that an earthquake would strike Bhutan on September 25 with the epicenter likely to be in Haa.
“It is not true,” said Zhung Dratshang’s Secretary General, Pema Gyeltshen. He said annually, they come together, to determine the risk-factors in the country and conduct kurims to ward them off. He said this year as well, they are conducting such rituals to ward off ill-lucks that country could face.
Pema Gyeltshen also said they have been conducting such rituals for years to ward off ill-luck.
