A 36-year-old man from Darla died after his friend allegedly struck him with a stone on the head. The incident occurred in Chong-Geykha under Phuentshogling Gewog, on Tuesday.
Phuentshogling police say both the men were under the influence of alcohol during the time of the incident. The locals had informed the police only the next day after they saw the man lying in a pool of blood. He was immediately rushed to Gaeddu hospital.
The clinical officer of Gaeddu hospital said the man was in a critical condition when he was brought in. He succumbed to the injuries within 15 minutes after he was brought in.
He suffered four-inch long and two and a half centrimetre deep cut on the left side of his head. The officer said the man was even bleeding through his ears, nose, and mouth.
The accused is under Phuentshogling police custody.
