Woman washed away by Punatshangchhu

A 21-year-old woman was washed away by Punatshangchhu in Wangdue Phodrang, yesterday. The incident occurred in Samthang, which is about two kilometres away from Bajo town towards Punakha. The deceased had gone to wash clothes by the riverside when the incident occurred.

The body was recovered about a kilometer downstream at around 6 PM the same day by the rescue team.

On behalf of His Majesty the King, the kidu office in Wangdue handed over Nu 10,000 to the parents of the deceased.
