A total of six wooden bridges were washed away cutting off Laya from the rest of the dzongkhag.

Tongchudrak Zam, which is three hours away from Laya towards Gasa and the Lemthang Zam near the lake were also washed away.

Gasa Dzongdag, Dorji Dhradhul said though the bridges were small, it is vital in connecting Laya with the rest of the dzongkhag.
