A class seven student of Dechencholing Higher secondary School was washed away by Wangchhu River in Thimphu, yesterday.
The incident took place near Dechencholing town around 12:15 PM.
According to sources, the boy was retrieving a ball from the river when he was washed away. He was said to have playing football with his friends.
Armed forces, Desuups and the local community members nearby are searching for the boy.
