His Majesty graces closing of parliament

His Majesty graces closing of5thSession of2nd parliament- His Majesty the King graced the closing session of the fifth Session of the second parliament, today.

The Speaker of National Assembly and the Chairperson of the National Council accompanied by the Secretaries General of the two Houses received His Majesty at the entrance gate of Gyalyong Tshokhang.

At the closing session, Members of Parliament expressed their gratitude and appreciation to the His Majesty the King for noble guidance and wisdom granted to the people towards living a meaningful life and serving the nation.

The session concluded with offering of Tashi Moenlam to His Majesty by the Members of Parliament led by Zhung Dratshang.

In the fifth Session of the Second Parliament, five Bills were passed in the joint sitting; Narcotic Drugs, Psychotropic Substances and Substance Abuse Bill of Bhutan 2014, Local Government Members Entitlement Bill of Bhutan 2014, Bio-Safety Bill of Bhutan 2014, Office of Attorney General Bill of Bhutan 2014 and Tenancy (Amendment) Bill of Bhutan 2014.

As per the provisions of the Constitution, these Bills have been submitted to His Majesty for the Royal assent.

The National Assembly also deliberated three Bills; Enterprise Registration Bill of Bhutan 2015, Companies Bill of Bhutan 2015 and Jabmi (Amendment) Bill of Bhutan 2015.
