Hong Kong Vs BhutanAfter causing the biggest upset in the first round of the World Cup qualifier, Bhutan is all set to battle Hong Kong, at Mong Kok stadium tomorrow. It is expected to be a tough battle for Bhutan even though Bhutan is placed at 159, five slots above Hong Kong in the FIFA Ranking.

Bhutan had defeated Sri Lanka in the first round of the World Cup qualifier, making the biggest move in FIFA Ranking from the lowest of 209.

Bhutan’s team members had left for Bangkok in Thailand on June 1 to acclimatize. They have been practicing twice a day.

“There is a potential for Bhutan’s team to win,” said Bhutan Football Federation’s General Secretary, Ugyen Wangchuk. However, he said the Hong Kong team is strong and it is going to be a tough battle for Bhutan.

Out of last five international games, Bhutan has won two matches, ending its disastrous barren run of 19 matches. On the other hand, Hong Kong has won two matches with only one loss and two drawn. The defeat was against Korea DPR.

Apart from Hong Kong, Bhutan will play against big leagues like China, Qatar, and the Maldives.

The Dragon Boys will play against China at Changlimithang in Thimphu on June 16.
