Some 17 people were fined by the Bhutan Narcotic Control Agency in a surprise inspection carried out in the capital yesterday. They were levied a fine of Nu 500 on the spot for smoking in public places. Most of them were caught smoking in bars, snooker rooms and near the taxi parking area. The inspection was done coinciding with The World No Tobacco Day.
