A class 10 student girl who was trapped inside her house in Lhuentse for four hours, when a falling boulder crashed into her house, was rescued by police and dzongkhag officials today.
The girl remained trapped inside her crushed home from 6 am till 10 am.
A lose rock slid off the hill and crashed into their hut at around 6 am. While her mother and brother were outside the house, the girl was in the other room when the incident happened.
The victim was immediately taken to the hospital, where no major injuries were seen. After a preliminary examination, health officials said, it was not necessary for her to be referred to the Monggar regional hospital.
The house suffered major damage.
