His Majesty grants promotion to eight officers

His Majesty grants promotion to eight officers- His Majesty the King granted promotion to eight officers of the Royal Bhutan Army and the Royal Body Guards. The officers were promoted from the rank of Colonel to the rank of Brigadier.

L-R:

Brigadier Sonam Tenzin was commissioned 1983, and is a recipient of the Drakpoi Wangyel Medal.

Brigadier Dorji Wangchuk was commissioned in 1982, and is a recipient of the Drakpoi Khorlo Medal.

Recipient of the Drakpoi Thugsey Medal, Brigadier Thinlay Dorji was commissioned to the armed forces in 1980.

Brigadier Sangay Thinlay was commissioned in 1979, and is a recipient of the Drakpoi Yugyel and Drakpoi Thugsey Medals.

Brigadier Tenzin Dorjee was commissioned in 1983, and is a recipient of the Drakpoi Thugsey Medal.

Brigadier Gembo Tshering was commissioned in 1982 and is a recipient of the Drakpoi Thugsey Medal.

Brigadier Dorji Gyeltshen was commissioned in 1982, and is a recipient of Drakpoi Norbu Yoedsel Medal.

Brigadier Dorji Rinchen was commissioned in 1983, and is a recipient of the Drakpoi Norbu Yoedsel Medal.
