A meeting to harmonise plansThe Prime Minister, Tshering Tobgay, the Cabinet Ministers, Government Secretaries, Dzongdags and Planning Officers met in Paro to discuss the Annual Performance Agreements for the fiscal year 2015-16, yesterday.

A press release from the Prime Minister’s office says the meeting was to harmonise the annual performance targets of the ministries and autonomous agencies with that of the dzongkhags.

Senior Planning Officer from the Prime Minister’s Office, Chencho told our reporter, that the meeting was to bring together all the stakeholders who must implement the plans together.

“This sort of a meeting at the very beginning of a fiscal year is very important to thrash out all the issues that might confront us during the later stages of the planning implementation. So this is to ensure we are all on the same page”

Chencho says it is important for the Dzongkhags to know the plans of the ministries since most of their plans involve the Dzongkhags.

Starting this year, as part of the Government Performance Management System, a harmonising meeting between ministries, Dzongkhags and relevant agencies will be held every year before signing of the compacts.
