RCSC receives Nu 6.97 M for scholarship scheme

RCSC receives Nu 6_97 M for scholarship schemeThe Royal Civil Service Commission (RCSC) received a cheque of Nu 6.97 M for the Nehru-Wangchuck Scholarship Scheme.

The Indian Ambassador to Bhutan, Gautam Bambawale handed over the cheque to the RCSC Chairperson, Karma Tshiteem, this morning.

Through the scholarship, selected candidates are sent for various long-term post-graduate studies in India.

In the first phase, which ended in June last year, 39 candidates underwent various trainings under the scholarship.

For the second phase, 28 candidates have been awarded scholarships. The scholarship scheme was instituted June 2009.

The Memorandum of Understanding signed is for five years.
