Trongsa Nyagoe wins the strong men competition

StrongMen-Trongsa- The audience jumped like popcorns in a hot pan as the strongmen competition started off today at the changlimithang stadium coinciding with the birth anniversary of His Majesty the King.

While various cultural programmes and mask dances were performed by students of various schools and the Royal Academy of Performing Arts, the main highlight of the event was the strong men competition.

The competition garnered ecstatic response from the audience as they StrongMen-Trongsacheered and jeered supporting their own contestants.

At the end of the competition, Kinley Wangdi from Trongsa bagged the first prize of Nu 300,000. He completed the contest in 3 minutes and 44 seconds. He was also the youngest among the contestants at 22 years old..

He was closely followed by Passang Dorji from Bumthang who finished the race in 4 minutes 26 seconds. He received a cash prize of Nu 200,000.

Sonam Tshering from Paro emerged third and received a cash prize of Nu 100,000. The celebration ended with Tashi Labey.
