Data centre established in Phuentshogling

Data Centre- Phuentshogling-- The Prime Minister, Tshering Tobgay graced the inauguration of the Bhutan Telecom’s data centre in Phuentshogling, today.

“Irrespective of being a private, public or corporate, with such an advanced capacity Data Centre in our country, we must make use of the facility,” said Lyonchhen.

Lyonchhen said he will support the centre, as much as possible, for it to be a successful operation.Data Centre- Phuentshogling

The Chief Executive Officer of Bhutan Telecom, Tshewang Gyeltshen said the centre was initiated to promote and support government’s vision of e-governance and paperless offices.

Phuentshogling was chosen to establish the centre as it is a point of interconnection with international fiber connectivity.

Bhutan Telecom is already in an advanced discussion stage with three corporations in the country, which has applied for the Data Centre services.

The centre was established at a cost of Nu.1.67 M.
