A Bhutanese teenage cyclist took the second place and bagged a silver medal at the Dharan Showdown Mountain Biking Championship, held at Nepal. Jigme Tenzin, 16, completed the cross country race, in junior category, just four seconds later than the first rider.
He completed the race of two laps of 3.5 kilometres in 27 minutes and 51 seconds.
“The experience and exposure was good,” said Jigme Tenzin. This is his first time participating in the international event.
Jigme Tenzin participated in two categories, elite and cross country race, in junior category. He took the sixth place in elite category.
Jigme Tenzin was accompanied by other cyclists from his SMBA Club.
The team arrived in the capital yesterday.
