20 best footballers selected from National Sports MeetAbout 20 best footballers have been selected have been selected from the Youth-under-13 National festival and Youth-under-15 National Sports Meet which was held in Gelegphu.

More than five hundred students from 18 dzongkhags participated in the events held in Gelephu Lower Secondary School.

The Technical Coordinator from Bhutan Football Federation, Choki Nima said the selected footballers will be trained at the Excellent Centre in Thimphu and Changjiji.

“This is the follow up program of grassroots.” He said they have implemented under six and 14-years old grassroots program 18 districts from 2011 onwards. “We have inter-dzongkhag competition under 12 and under 14. This is the national meet and best players from there come here for national meet and compete.”
