Gyalpoizing land case accused refutes charges

MonggarCourt-GyalpoizhingLandCaseTwo issues have emerged after, Lekey Wangdi, one of the accused committee members in Gyalpoizhing land case, submitted his evidence rebuttal in the Monggar District Court, today.

He said, during the committee meeting, they never discussed the plot allotment to Kinzang Dema.

The accusation was as per the minute of the meeting that reflects his discussion of the same. Lekey Wangdi refuted the allegation and said the committee members had no control over the minutes of the meeting. Invoking Bhutan Municipal Act 1999, Lekey Wangdi, said the minutes of the meeting was supposed to be submitted to the committee for verification and endorsement, during the next meeting. However, he said, the minutes of the meeting was not submitted.

The Monggar Drangpon said, the court will have to see the applicability of the Municipal Act in this case.

Lekey Wangdi also said the plots were allotted even before the 34th Municipal Committee Meeting in Monggar and that the allotment certificate was given before the meeting. He also The 34th Municipal Committee Meeting also did not mention Kinzang Dema.

Lekey Wangdi’s next hearing is scheduled for next Tuesday
