His Majesty promotes two brigadiers

HM grants promotion to Brigadiers-His Majesty the King granted promotion to Brigadier Karma Tshering and Brigadier Chencho Dorji. They have been promoted to the rank of Major General.

His Majesty the King is the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces of Bhutan.

Major General Karma Tshering underwent his military training at Indian Military Academy and was commissioned into the Royal Bhutan Army in 1972.

He is a two-time recipient of Drakpoi Khorlo medal and also received the Drakpoi Rinchen Tsugtor medal from His Majesty the King on February 21, 2013.

Major General Chencho Dorji underwent military training at Indian Military Academy and was selected in 1985 for the Royal Body Guards. He has been serving as the Aide-de-Camp to His Majesty the Fourth Druk Gyalpo since then.

He is the recipient of the Druk Yugyel and Drakpoi Thugsey medals, as well as the Drakpoi Rinchen Tshugtor medal from His Majesty the King on February 21, 2013.
