Monggar District Court sentenced five men for Chorten vandalism. Three were given life sentences, one seven years and the other, one three.
Those who got life imprisonment were involved in more than one Chorten vandalism cases, including in Kengkhar and Jurmey, under Monggar.
Their names are expected to come up again in other case hearings as well. The office of Attorney General has charge sheeted about 33 individuals out of 41 arrested from Monggar and Gyalpoizhing.
The man, who was given five three years imprisonment, was for failing to report the crime. The one, who got seven years, was for soliciting the crime, states the verdict.
