NC ratifies trade agreement between Bhutan and Thailand

NC-TradeAgreementThe National Council ratified the Trade and Economic Cooperation Agreement between Bhutan and Thailand. Twenty Members voted “yes” from 21 members present. One member abstained.

The agreement aims to further promote and facilitate and develop trade and economic cooperation between the two countries on long-term and stable basis. There will also be exemption of taxes and other duties for certain goods during the trade between the two countries.

The two countries will explore and undertake cooperation projects in the areas of tourism, construction, small and medium enterprises, health and medical care, education, energy and logistic services.
