The Prime Minister, Tshering Tobgay discussed assistance in the medical sector with the Sri Lankan’s President Mahinda Rajapaksa, on the sidelines of the SAARC Summit in Kathmandu.
Lyonchhen thanked Sri Lanka for the assistance provided to Bhutanese medical students over the years and sought for further assistance.
The President agreed to look into it and said he would speak to the relevant authorities and Doctors Union in Sri Lanka.
Lyonchhen also accepted President Rajapaksa’s invitation to visit Sri Lanka.
