Thinley Norbu, representing Bhutan, is the runners up in men’s single of the first Tenzing Norgay Memorial Open Tennis Championship held in Darjeeling, India. Thinley Norbu lost to Ashimanyu from Kolkata by two straight sets 6-1, 6-4 in the final, played yesterday.
Thinley Norbu was the winner of the recent 43rd National Tennis Open Championship held in Thimphu. He is a student of Royal Thimphu College.
The Bhutanese team of six players participated in different categories like men’s double and men’s single of the Championship.
The three day Championship ended yesterday.
