TubeWells-PunakhaThe Dzongkhag Administration has constructed two tube wells to meet the drinking water shortage in Khuruthang town in Punakha.

A tube well is a type of water well which is fitted with a pipe or tube to pump water from underground.

The Punakha Dzongkhag Administration said they will now be able to supply adequate drinking water to the residents.

The municipality’s engineer, Aiman said, the well will also be handy incase of fire disasters. He said the tube well will directly connect to Khuruthang’s reservoir tank from where they can supply water through fire hydrant.

About Nu.2.7 MN was spent to construct the wells.
