About 50 children and a handful of teachers from different schools learned the basics of origami, the Japanese art of paper folding at Pelkhil School, yesterday. They were given lessons by an origami expert from Japan.
Students and teachers learned how to make different items with paper. Origami originated in Japan in the 17th Century. In the evening, students at the Royal Thimphu College were also given the training. The lessons will be conducted at the Bhutan Center for Japanese studies., today.
The lessons were conducted by the Japan foundation as part of Japan week in Bhutan.
