Bhutan-India bilateral talks finalises 84 projectsThe third round of the Bhutan-India Bilateral Talks finalised 84 Project-tied Assistance Projects in the 11th Five Year Plan. The third round of Bhutan-India Development Cooperation Talks was held in Thimphu, yesterday.

During the talks, Bhutan assured that all the projects will be completed within the stipulated time. India assured timely release of funds.


The Bhutanese delegation was led by the Foreign Secretary, Yeshey Dorji, and the Indian delegation by the Economic Relations and Development Partnership Administration Secretary, Sujata Mehta.

The delegations also discussed the Indian government’s assistance of Nu.45 BN for the 11th Five Year Plan. The amount includes Nu.8.5 BN for Programme Grant, another Nu.8.5 BN for Small Development Projects and Nu.28 BN for Project-tied Assistance.

India’s commitment of Nu.45 BN, constitute about 67 percent of the total external assistance Bhutan will be receiving during the plan.
