Nepal’s Ajay Pandit wins Tour of the Dragon race

Ajay Pandit ChettriAjay Pandit Chettri from Nepal set an impressive record by completing the Tour of the Dragon mountain bike race in 10 hours 42 minutes and 49 seconds. He was awarded Nu.150,000.

This is the first time that an international participant is successful in winning the race.

The runners up, Rajkumar Shrestra, who is also from Nepal, gave a stiff competition to the winner, with a time difference of little less than 15 minutes. He took away Nu.95,000.


Sonam, who took the coveted prize for last two years, this time, took the third position. He won Nu.75,000 as prize.

The race, which flagged off early this morning from Bumthang saw many international participants.

The Tour of the Dragon race covers 268 kilometres, from Bumthang to Thimphu.
