PM meets the Vice President of ADB.Lyonchhen Tshering Tobgay was called on by Ms. Lakshmi Venkatachalam, the Vice President of the Asian Development Bank (ADB) and her delegation at the Gyalyong Tshogkhang in the capital, yesterday.

The Vice President assured Lyonchhen that ADB would continue to assist Bhutan in all of her endeavors and provide necessary support.

Lyonchhen said Bhutan would continue to draw inspiration from ADB’s continual efforts toward promoting green and inclusive growth.

Such growth should not only be ADB’s agenda but should also be the global business paradigm, which can be adopted by all countries in the world, added Lyonchhen.

Lyonchhen and Ms. Venkatachalam discussed on exploring new prospects for mutually inclusive growth like socially responsible private sector development, small and medium scale industries, renewable energy and agri-marketing among others.

Ms. Venkatachalam said that she was very privileged and pleased to be visiting Bhutan, and she feels that Bhutan is indeed the “Shangrila.”

This is her first visit to Bhutan.
