Thimphu Dzongkhag Tshogdu decided to submit the proposal of the people of South Thimphu, concerning the Education City Project, to the National Council.
According to Maedwang Gup, Tandin, people in his gewog have raised concern that a huge investment has been made in the Education City Project. The people want to know if there are new plans for the site.

He added the people are also confused as works are continuing although the project is no more.
The Gups said people have requested them to voice their opinions in the Dzongkhag Tshogdu that they would like to see the Education City Project to take shape. If not, they would like another educational institute, at least a college, to come up at the site.
The Chairperson of the Dzongkhag Tshogdu, Sonam Dorji, said as proposed by the people, they have finalised that the proposal will be submitted to the National Council.
