DenchiTownAround 30 land owners who lost their plots for the Pema Gatshel’s new Denchi town planning have still not received their compensation. The issue was highlighted in the recent Dzongkhag Tshogdu in Pema Gatshel.

Although land acquisition and demarcating of plots for the new Denchi town planning were complete long time back, developmental activities are yet to take place.

The landowners who lost their plots to the town planning still haven’t been given any compensation.

According to Pema Gatshel Dzongda, Tshering Kezang, there is an urgent need to look into the matter as the land owners haven’t been compensated.

Meanwhile, the Land record officer, Wangdi, said the Dzongkhag Land Acquisition Committee has submitted a proposal to the Ministry with regard to the compensation.

He added, if the ministry accepts the proposal, compensations will be paid eventually. Once the compensations are paid, the plots will be included in the town planning. Residential plots will also be identified.

However, the Tshogdu suggested to hold a separate meeting between the Gewog and Dzongkhag administration and with relevant agencies to further discuss and resolve the issue.
